“Feta” cheese Alpanidi P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin)

feta 800Feta Alpanidi is produced in Northern Greece (Macedonia), the soft brined white cheese is made with the standard of P.D.O. (Protected Designation of Origin), with high quality sheep and goat milk selected of certified farmers. It is formed into large blocks, which are submerged in brine.

"Feta" Alpanidi is produced using only whole sheep's milk, or a blend of sheep's and goat's milk (with a maximum of 30% goat's milk). The tin containers are shipped to supermarkets where the cheese is cut and sold directly from the tin container; alternatively blocks of standardized weight are packaged in sealed plastic cups or vacuum pack with some brine.

Our high-quality "Feta" Alpanidi have a creamy texture when sampled, and aromas of ewe's milk, butter, and yoghurt. In the mouth it is tangy, slightly salty, and mildly sour.
